About the Project
Founded in 1999 by Heinz Frye and Mick Quinn, Raft Furniture began as a small business. Now the company be known as a top name for sustainable and handmade furniture. Raft makes sofas in London. It owns a factory in Indonesia that uses reclaimed teak wood. There are showrooms all over the UK. One big store is found in Westfield, London. Raft brings together skilled work and smart eco-friendly design in all that it do.
Sustainability is very important to Raft. Raft’s reclaimed teak collections and its sofas made in the UK show this. The brand is known for good furniture in Britain, and people trust it as both a maker and a seller of these products.

The Challenge
Raft Furniture’s online space needed to change to keep up with the company getting bigger in stores. The problems were:
- Legacy System Integration – Bringing old systems used in the store together with new tools for shopping online.
- Data Centralisation – Combining EPOS and online numbers helps to make clear reports. This helps people know more and helps them make better choices.
- Platform Migration – Switching from Magento 1 to Magento 2 can be done with no downtime. You will have little trouble making this move. With the right steps, the switch can go smoothly for you and your business.
- Custom Feature Development – We are making special tools. These include a sofa configurator and a new quoting system.
- UX & UI Refresh – We are going to change the website. This will show that Raft is a top brand. We want the website to meet what people want now.
The project needed to mix new ideas with keeping things the same. This was so Raft could keep its trusted name as it changed the way it works.

The Solution
Our team worked with Raft for the whole project. We wanted to make sure the technical side and the experience for customers was great. Key solutions included:
- Seamless Migration – All product, customer, and order information was moved from Magento 1 to Magento 2. Everything worked with no break. Both systems were up and running at the same time before going live. The switch was made when there were not many people using the site.
- Legacy System Integration – Connected Raft’s existing in-store systems with their ecommerce platform through smart data mapping and transformation, enabling real-time communication.
- Custom Features – Delivered a Sofa Configurator, appointment booking system, and quotation tool to make it easier to use and to help do hard tasks on its own.
- Rebranding & UX/UI Redesign – Brought in a new look that matches Raft’s focus on being eco-friendly. Made it easier to get around the site, helped it run faster, and aimed to have more people take action on the site.
This mix of lot of new tech features and a focus on customers helped Raft connect its website and in-store experience.
